Weakfish Return to South Shore Bays & Western Sound Bluefish Bite Stays Strong
South Shore bays have seen the return of weakfish up to 6 pounds in the past week due to the schools of peanut bunker showing up. Fluking also saw some decent action in the same bays. Sound bluefishing held up again with the western portion of it especially thriving with the gators. The colder nights sparked a bit of a striper bit centrally in the Sound with additional good reports coming from the North Fork. Offshore reports were stronger last week but with the approaching offshore storm this weekend, it could make for tough ocean conditions to reach the grounds. Despite this, the inshore bite should produce through the end of the week with the usual species.
