NJ Jumbo Stripers By Troll, Plug, Bait & Beach
The processional of good catch and release striped bass action continues throughout much of the coastal region with a couple of significant Memorial Day Monday reports showing good returns for those who’ve since hit the water again. Some cloudy, rainy conditions to end the work week, but as opposed to the holiday weekend that wasn’t, we’re expecting mostly sunny skies on Saturday and Sunday along most of the Jersey Shore. Plan for SW winds with your outgoing tide on Saturday in the Tuckerton, Little Egg and Great Bay area when partaking in the doubleshot of fluke tournaments, the Raging Raymond based out of the American Legion on Radio Road in LEH, and the 8th Annual RFA Bass River Classic out of the Viking Yachting Center on the Bass River. Details on registering for those contests in this week’s full video reports, along with updates on the Black Drum Battle, the Coastal Kayak Clash and The Fisherman’s Dream Boat Fishing Challenge. As for those jumbo stripers, reports to 48 inches (IBSP) and 51 pounds (Sandy Hook) this week are a good sign for those in Friday’s Manhattan Cup.
