We are just 9 days out from the start of winter flounder and outback stripers in the Garden State; thank God, February is almost over! As we head down the homestretch and barrel ahead towards spring, now’s the time to gear up. This week, we’re covering several local sales events coming up over the next two weekends including next week’s Atlantic City Boat Show from Wednesday through Sunday with a full lineup of seminars. This weekend ahead, it’s the final full weekend of February with cod, pollock, ling, porgies and a few blackfish on the head boats heading east, primarily white perch back onshore in the local rivers and creeks. Still solid ice options in the region, and this week Jenni Ackerman’s Open Boat segment features tips and “tip-ups” with Saltwater Underground’s Nick Honachefsky on ice in Northwest New Jersey.
