We’re in “hot tip” mode this week, with surfcasters eyeing up beach cams, praying to the striper gods and anxiously awaiting the text alerts. No sustained blitz action to report yet, but a good weather forecast in the days ahead could change that. Some good fish in the upper 40” and over class reported this week, mostly up around Sandy Hook and inside Raritan Bay, but a 47” fish is also released on the beach in Cape May County. We’ll talk striped bass, bunker (and relative lack of bunker), sand eels and the weekend weather outlook, while Jenni has advice on what lures to bring along for the fall run in her weekly Open Boat segment. Take a deep dive into the November edition of The Fisherman out this week with a look at tautog and sea bass, followed by a Dream Boat and CKC update as we enter the final stretch of the season. Plus, George has your freshwater update from the Pocono Mountains and we wrap up this week’s full report with a look at upcoming events in the region.
