October Beach Brawling at the Jersey Shore
This week’s video forecast is from Fisherman’s Headquarters on LBI where the 67th annual LBI Surf Fishing Classic will kick off on Saturday, October 9th and run for nine consecutive weeks through December 12th. To kick off the month of October there’s plenty of variety in the surf at this point including Spanish mackerel, kingfish, bluefish and blitzing false albacore, though all eyes are scanning the striped bass horizon. A number of good bass catches in the back bays and out along the sod banks especially south of LBI where tautog are thick in A.C. according to local reports, and continued sheepshead action is reported down towards the “ice breakers” on Delaware Bay. A hot take on Jersey Shore weakfish including stock status and local fishing news, followed up with all the freshwater action with our Pocono Outdoors Guy. Plus, good news at Garden State South as the Beach Haven Charter Fishing Association says new reef ball deployment there should prove big dividends in 2022 and beyond!
