See What’s Busting Up That Bait – Plus, Sod Bank Tips!
Kick off this week’s video fishing forecast at dawn on Tuckerton Bay with a 2-minute drill on the final drive of the 2021 Jersey Shore fluke season. Folks floundering around at Townsend Inlet Reef last week were surprised with a good body of black drum, which as we learned last week in our part one interview with Capt. Dan Schafer of Bottom Sweeper Jigs can often be found with the sheepshead. Head out back again in part two this week as Dan shows off his 14-1/2-pound sheepshead weighed in (and released) at Grassy Sound Marina this past weekend while offering up some tips for fishing the sod banks and sedges this fall. Plenty of bait swimming along the beaches in recent days, with whales, spinner sharks and blacktips in the mix; how soon before we see the striped ones in the melee is all about the weather at this point!
