NJ/DE Bay Labor Day Weekend Fishing Forecast
While saying a few prayers for friends and family in Louisiana, the remnants of Hurricane Ida raced through interior portions of the Garden State on Wednesday night leaving yet another path of tropical destruction. There was Wednesday tornado damage in Mullica Hill in South Jersey, with severe flooding to the north in towns near larger freshwater bodies like the Passaic and Raritan. Thursday morning conditions are almost fall-like, with the coastal areas relatively unfazed by the storm. Mostly dry conditions for the upcoming Labor Day weekend – for those not struggling to clean up after Ida things look pretty good on the back bay and inshore grounds in the days ahead. A few doormat catches in this week’s video forecast including a 13.4-pound “flukeasaurus” out of Belmar. We’re in the final innings of the New Jersey fluke season now as folks look to score a few final flatties before the final bell on September 19th.
