The countdown to outback striper season in the Garden State continues, with just 8 more days until anglers can hit the inlets, bays, rivers and creeks in search of that first striped bass of the 2024 season. Until the March 1 opener of winter flounder and back bay stripers, there are still a handful of boats running east for cod, pollock, ling and a few straggling tautog (which goes on one month hiatus after February 29). Of course, white perch can be found from the Hackensack, Raritan, Toms, Mullica, and Great Egg rivers, on down along the tributaries along the Delaware.
