New Jersey & Delaware Bay Video Fishing Forecast June 11, 2026
We're heading into the second weekend of June, and it appears the summer heat is on here at the Jersey Shore. It's been a tough fluke bite out back in many areas, but hopefully the uptick in water temps and good-looking weather forecast for this Saturday the 13th proves to be the turn-around needed for beach, bay and inlet fluking. But reports have an ocean bite underway, and nearshore squid action has been surprisingly good. Big fluke honors of the week comes by way of Big Dave's Tackle in South Jersey, but will it make it to the Dream Boat Leaderboard? Last year's winning subscriber just took delivery of his Dream Boat Steiger; tips on how to win! More reports from The Fisherman's readers and weekly viewers, plus our offshore intel report from Canyon Runner, the weekly freshwater rundown, and we wrap up the week with prayers for a recently departed friend along with upcoming events in the New Jersey, Delaware Bay region.

The waning full moon tides last week put the black drum on a heavy bite as boomers were landed up and down the coasts. Stripers continue to please in the suds from tip to tip of the state. Chopper blues of 2 to 4 pounds are sporadically moving through with some racer class fish to 12 pounds blending in. Fluke are starting to be seen with more frequency in the surf as they scamper out of the inlets and a few kingfish began to show up. Water temps are hovering in the 61- to 64-degree range and should elevate each day with the 90-degree temps we’ve been having.

Philly Billy of Charlie’s Bait and Tackle in Normandy Beach noted bass got back on a solid bite this weekend as fresh shucked clams were the ticket to ride. Schools of bunker have been in the surf lately which may be attracting some bluefish to the area as I found out casting black Bombers at night to land a few 4-pound class fish. Also, there may be squid in the surf as my plugs were constantly tapped by some unknown creature during the night.

Greg at Fishermen’s Headquarters in Ship Bottom said usually he sees a wave of big bass move through the second to third week of June and reports already have that prediction coming to fruition as clam and chunk baits are finding their mark, though you have to wade through a bunch of dogfish too. Chopper blues of 2 to 5 pounds are on average with some slammers pushing 10 to 12 pounds also showing up to gnaw on bunker chunk baits. Black drum are still hanging around and fluke fishing is beginning to pick up in the cuts and sloughs.

Jay of Fishermen’s Supply in Point Pleasant said it’s nothing crazy, but a transition into a summer pattern is settling in as sand fleas are top baits for stripers now north of the inlet. Bluefish to 3 pounds were hitting teasers and metals at the pocket. Surf fluking is producing on Gulp Sand eels and Q8 Jerk Bullets hanging fish. Jetty tips up north are scratching up bass on poppers. Jay said squid are inside the Manasquan river and I believe it as my night casting plugs were getting tapped by what I thought could have been squid and Jay confirmed their presence.

A wild week on the downside of the full moon brought plenty of surf action according to John of Grumpys Tackle in Seaside Park. Black drum were on the hit list big time as I stopped in to grab some clams to dust a 45-pound boomer and many others were reported at IBSP. Stripers continue to chew on both clams and hitting plugs in the early morning hours. Sporadic shots of 2- to 4-pound bluefish would move through while fluke fishing began to pick up in the suds over the weekend.
