As many Fisherman readers will recall from my product review coverage earlier this year, Cobia introduced both 26- and 28-foot center consoles that were feature-rich, high-tech, and priced right at last season’s Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show. Cobia has continued that momentum, recently expanding their fishing fleet with the debut of the 305 CC. With an overall length of 30 feet, 5 inches and supported by a 10-1/2-foot beam, the 305 CC delivers an enviable combination of space, power, utility, and performance. Rated to carry up to 800 horsepower, it offers one of the largest and most functional deck layouts in its class—128 square feet of cockpit space—perfect for both serious sportfishing and casual family cruising.
Built using Cobia’s advanced VARIS (Vacuum-Assisted Resin Infusion System), the 305 CC’s hull is lighter, stronger, and more fuel-efficient than traditional fiberglass layups. This translates to a smoother, drier ride in offshore conditions, with a performance difference you can feel in any sea state. A spacious, finished bilge compartment offers easy access to systems for simple maintenance. For even greater stability, the optional Seakeeper Ride system automatically adjusts trim, enhancing safety and comfort regardless of seas or crew movement.
“The 305 CC is a perfect expression of what Cobia is all about: true fishability, family comfort and performance you can count on,” said Chris Gratz, President of Maverick Boat Group. “With smart features and next-generation styling, the 305 CC is a game-changer for the segment.”
The boat is built around versatility. Twin insulated and macerated 32-gallon midship fishboxes keep your catch fresh, while aft boxes (53 and 43 gallons) add even more capacity. Combined, there are four large compartments ready for ice, fish, or gear. Up front, a wide-open bow layout with a removable sun lounge insert allows seamless access to the anchor locker, recessed cleats, or an optional trolling motor. The electronic bow table adjusts from flush to full sun lounge, creating the ideal transition from fishing to family time. Optional canopies at the bow and stern extend shade for long days at the sandbar. For storage, compartments under the forward benches and a deep hold beneath the cockpit sole provide both dry and insulated options.
Dual insulated stern livewells (33 and 27 gallons) let you carry multiple baits or use one as an extra cooler. Aft seating for three folds away to create more deck space when the rods come out. The helm is ergonomic and intuitive, with everything in easy reach, from cupholders to key systems. A slide-out cooler under the helm seat doubles as a prep station or extra seating at anchor. Standard electronics include a Garmin GPSMAP 1643xsv multi-function display with twin transducers and a VHF 215 radio mounted in the hardtop. Rodholders abound in the covering boards, under the gunwales, across the transom, and in the hardtop, complemented by both raw-water and freshwater washdowns.
Standard power comes from twin Yamaha F300s, but many buyers will opt for Yamaha’s new F350s. Factory tests show the twin 350s pushing the 305 CC to 58 mph at wide open throttle, hitting 20 mph in just 5.5 seconds. At an efficient 3500 rpm cruise, the boat makes 34.4 mph while burning 19.8 gallons per hour, for 1.74 mpg. Need to run fast? She’ll hit 40.7 mph at 4500 rpm (1.55 mpg) or 46.3 mph at 5000 rpm (1.41 mpg), delivering strong speed without excessive fuel burn.
Her list of standard features is extensive, with options to customize the boat for hardcore fishing or luxury family time. The 305 CC’s standard color is Pure White, but choices also include Sardina Green, Haze Grey, Whisper Grey, Atlantic Blue, Bayside Blue, Deep Water Blue, plus custom and two-tone options.
Cobia has built a reputation for versatile, capable center consoles, and the 305 CC continues that legacy. From offshore runs to family sandbar days, this model balances fishability, comfort, and performance in one sharp-looking package. It’s the latest evidence of Cobia’s engineering renaissance—an all-purpose center console that works as hard as it plays.
