Six Days ‘til Stripers – New Podcast, Same Ol’ Whale’s Tale

We’re six days away from the start of New Jersey “outback” striper season, as well as winter flounder. Look for the bass next Wednesday along the sod banks and riverbanks, while best bait for winter flounder is along the bulkheads in many North/Central Jersey inlets and salty rivers. Coming off the road this week at Philly and Edison, and we’ve got a brand new audio podcast to go on The Road in the New Jersey, Delaware Bay edition of The Fisherman, while also taking a tour of the March edition of The Fisherman out this week. Next big show is in Atlantic City from March 1-5 where we’ll draw another Sterling wide tracker winners (check out this week’s full video to see who won from Edison and Oaks). A location update on the next meeting of the New Jersey Marine Fisheries Council on March 2 where fluke, sea bass and porgy regulations for 2023 should get finalized, Shad Watch 2023 with our Pocono Outdoors Guy begins, and we take another look at the “wind & whale” debate along the coast with members of congress stepping in with field hearings and pending federal legislation to look into the industrial wind efforts along the coast and impacts on marine resources like marine mammals and recreational fishing.
