Father’s Day Fishing Forecast For NJ & DE
It’s Father’s Day weekend, and also the final weekend of spring of ’23 as the summer solstice occurs on June 21. As jumbo stripers head E/NE for the summer travels, we’re settling into the summer action in the New Jersey, Delaware Bay region, kicking off this week’s forecast with the very first reported “doormat” fluke of the year. After a full rundown of recent summer flounder action and a look at this weekend’s tournament action we turn our attention to the final days of spring black sea bass and an Open Boat trip for biscuits. Bluefin tuna action got tough last weekend, but yellowfin have entered the southern canyons; and while most of the “over” slot stripers are on the move there are some slots and unders still keeping rods bent at the Jersey Shore. Also we’ve got tiderunner weakfish and gator blues popping up in the reports, and possibly even in the Dream Boat Fishing Challenge for our Fisherman subscribers who get that digital weekly access to the magazine. Get our weekly freshwater report as well from the Pocono Outdoors Guy for this final weekend of spring.
